Juha Kuivanen
Published in 2008
Kultakausi – The Golden Age is an artistic work combining both male choir music and paintings from the golden age of Finnish arts. It shows the golden age of arts as a catalyst in the awakening the Finnish national identity.
On the CD, the Polytech Choir sings the best male choir works from the renowned composers Sibelius, Kuula, Madetoja and Palmgren. The art book included with the CD exhibits paintings of the Golden Age from the collection of Merita Art Foundation. The writers of the art book, Susanna Pettersson and Kimmo Korhonen, are experts of arts and music history.
